I am a doctoral candidate in the department of government at Cornell University. I study comparative politics with particular interest in ethnic and identity politics, inequality and development, citizenship and social movements. I have a regional interest in Latin America, where I spent time studying and working for a microfinance organization in Ecuador, as well as a real estate development company in Nicaragua. I received my B.A. from Allegheny College in 2011, and have been at Cornell since 2013. During the 2016-17 academic year I conducted field research in Brazil. I expect to complete my PhD in 2019.
